Tolo Harbour Tour

Join us for a lovely day out as we slowly make our way around Tolo Harbour.  Catching the early (and only) ferry from Ma Liu
Shui our first stop is the old pirate haven of Tap Mun Chau, also known as Grass Island.

Tap Mun may be remote, but a walking tour of the island provides a charming getaway with trails crisscrossing the island.
Tap Mun also boasts one of Hong Kong's oldest and best maintained Tin Hau temples.

From the pier we first visit Tap Mun New Fishermen's Village and will later pass through a Taoist cemetery before following
the new coastal trail to a hilltop lookout point. All along the trail there are splendid views over the Sai Kung Peninsula, Sharp
Peak, Mirs Bay and even into China.  From the lookout we descend into the oldest part of Tap Mun and pay a visit to the
rather impressive Tin Hau temple.  Time permitting we will stop for a brief morning tea break at one of the small
restaurants on the island before returning to the ferry which will take us down through Long Harbour.

The harder bit of the day’s outing starts just after Wong Shek Pier as we follow a dirt trail along the very scenic Long
Harbour to reach small village of Hoi Ha, where we will stop for a well deserved lunch.  After lunch there will be time to enjoy
the clear calm waters and sandy beaches of the Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park.

Leaving Hoi Ha at about 4:15pm, we follow a gently climbing old inter-village footpath passing Pak Sha O on our way to the
pier in secluded Lai Chi Cheong.  Here is a last chance to enjoy a cool refreshment before we catch the 6:00pm ferry back
to Ma Liu Shui.
