Tolo Harbour Tour
(Abbridged)

The shorter version of our Tolo Harbour Tour outing allows you to discover a few hidden treasures of the eastern New Territories while
leaving plenty of time to enjoy the clear waters of one of Hong Kong's marine parks.

Catching the early (and only)
ferry from Ma Liu Shui our first stop is the old pirate haven of Tap Mun Chau, also known as Grass Island.

Tap Mun may be remote, but a walking tour of the island provides a charming getaway with trails crisscrossing the island. Tap Mun also
boasts one of Hong Kong's oldest and best maintained Tin Hau temples.

From the pier we first visit Tap Mun New Fishermen's Village and will later pass through a Taoist cemetery before following the new coastal
trail to a hilltop lookout point. All along the trail there are splendid views over the Sai Kung Peninsula, Sharp Peak, Mirs Bay and even into
China.  From the lookout we descend into the oldest part of Tap Mun and pay a visit to the rather impressive Tin Hau temple.  Time permitting
we will stop for a brief morning tea break at one of the small restaurants on the island before returning to the ferry which will take us down
through Long Harbour.

The harder bit of the day’s outing starts just after Wong Shek Pier as we follow a dirt trail along the very scenic Long Harbour to reach the
small village of Hoi Ha, where we will stop for a well deserved lunch.  After lunch there will be time to enjoy the clear calm waters and sandy
beaches of the Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park.

Leaving Hoi Ha in the early afternoon by
minibus, we take a brief tour of Sai Kung town before heading towards the big city.
