This easy afternoon hike starts at Chi Fu Bus Terminus where we will join a concrete path that eventually links up with the Hong Kong Trail. Continuing gently upwards, we traverse a peaceful valley, before the path levels out and disappears into and along the wooded slopes of High West.
The path re-emerges occasionally so that we are able to take in a panorama covering the George, Lamma, Sunshine, Cheung, Hei Ling and Lantau islands. Reaching the island’s northern side, we look out over Victoria Harbour.
Upon reaching Conduit Road, the hike will transform itself into a more leisurely stroll. Winding our way down Kotewall Road and Oaklands Avenue, we finally reach Tai Ping Shan and join the Sun Yat Sen Historical Trail.
Not only does this trail link a number of historical sites that are related to Sun Yat-sen's activities in Hong Kong, it will also take us through many interesting back streets on our way to Central - and you will be pleased to know that our last stop on the trail is a well-hidden watering hole somewhere in Soho… We should get there in time for Happy Hour…
